According to Lorraine Gallaher of CMS, Inc., "The growth in online coupons is quite significant." Sending out online coupons to your customers is a good way to make people away of the services you offer and to boost your business. It may be easier than you think to join this trend---all you need is a graphic design or layout program like Adobe Photoshop. The design options in Photoshop are extensive, which makes it ideal to create your coupon.

1
Click "File" then "New" to create a new Adobe Photoshop document. Type in "1000 pixels" for the width, "500" for the height, and "300 pixels per inch" for the resolution. Set the color mode to "RGB" and choose a "white" background.
2
Choose the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" from the "Tools" window.
3
Draw a rectangular marquee selection inside of the canvas, about 1/16 of an inch away from the edge.
4
Select "Edit" then "Stroke" on the Photoshop main menu. Change the stroke color to gray (or the color of your choice) and set the stroke width to "30 pixels." Set the "Location" to "Outside," the "Blending Mode" to "Difference," and the "Opacity" to "100%," then hit "OK."
5
Go right to the "Layer" menu and select "New," then "Layer" (the marquee selection should still be active).
6
Select "Edit" then "Fill" from the Photoshop menu. Choose "White" under the "Contents" box and make sure the opacity is at 100% again.
7
Choose the "Horizontal Type Tool" (text) from your "Tools" window. Position the cursor at the top of the canvas and set the font to 10 points (any color that you want, as long as it contrasts well against the white background). Type in the offer first---for instance, 10% off. Position that text box to the left of the canvas.
8
Use the "Horizontal Type Tool" to create another text box (the same font is fine). This time, type in the name of the product or service that you are discounting and position it directly in the center of the coupon.
9
Create one more text box and size the font at about five points in black. Type in further details about your offer, such as the date when it expires and any limitations on how many items the buyer can purchase.
10
Open a picture of the product that you are selling (or an image that accurately represents your service) in Photoshop. Copy and paste it into your coupon (this will create a new layer). Position the image at the top right-hand side of the canvas.
11
Click "File" then "Save for web." Click the "Image Size" tab. Change the width to 500 pixels and the height to 250 pixels. Save the image as a JPEG, GIF, or PNG file.
