In the past decade, almost all computer applications that create media-based content have added the capability to save Internet web pages from within the application. Adobe Photoshop has incorporated that capability in the past several versions in order to allow creators to focus their efforts on the art and style of content creation for the web instead of focusing on learning the deeper technicalities of XHTML and underlying scripting languages for web development. As a result, content creators can product complex Web designs from within Photoshop without having to hand-code XHTML code.

Open a new Photoshop Image by selecting "File -> New". The Image size should be at least 500 x 400 Pixels in size and no more than 1000 x 1000. Using the Freeform Pen tool in Photoshop, draw a free-hand website menu area that includes the top third of the web page and the left quarter. When complete drawing, convert the shape drawn into a selection by "Right Clicking" the shape and clicking the "Make Selection" menu option. If the shape does not appear as you desire, "Right Click" the selection and select the "Delete" key on your keyboard and repeat.

Create a fill color for the shape created by "Selecting" the fill tool, a color from the color pallette and "Left Clicking" on the shape with the desired color.
3
"Insert" Text to the top right of the Photoshop File that will be the web site title or logo by choosing the "Text Insertion Tool" from the menu bar and "Left Clicking" at the start of the desired area for text entry.
4
Select the "Shape Tool" and insert rounded rectangles on the left hand side of the web page to be buttons for the web site. Ensure the buttons are large enough to then insert text using the "Text Insertion Tool" for the labeling of the file menus.
5
Insert a background Image for the website by selecting the "File Menu -> Insert -> Image" selection option. On the layer menu on the bottom right hand side of Adobe, "Right Click" the background image and select "Send to Back." This will ensure your image is behind the other website information already configured.
