Images used for computer screens and images used for print vary significantly in image resolution. Resolution refers to the amount of dots that are displayed per inch (dpi). You can convert low-resolution images to high-resolution images and vice versa quickly in Adobe Photoshop. Note that increasing the resolution of a low-resolution image does not improve the quality because the computer has to add pixels that did not exist in the low-resolution image.

Open the image in Photoshop.

Click the "Image" menu and select "Image Size."

Type a higher number in the "Resolution" dialogue box. High resolution is considered more than 300 pixels per inch.

Retouch the image. Increasing the resolution of an image will not increase the quality of the image; it will make it more pixelated. Using some of Photoshop's tools and filters, such as the "Reduce Noise" filter, may improve the quality a little.
